Synthetic Bioactive Surfaces:
Models of the Living World and Advanced Nanomaterials
for Biotechnology Applications
Our research initiative is a German network of excellence for studying bioactive surfaces from their theoretical aspects to their
pre-industrial development. It regroups seven complementary scientific teams from the Science-Park Golm. In particular, an active cooperation
between Max Planck Society (fundamental research) and Fraunhofer Society (applied research) is emphasized, with the objective to solve
important fundamental and applied scientific issues in the emerging field of synthetic bioactive surfaces.
